WHAT IS HE/HIM ZINE?
He/Him Magazine is a new online publication, each issue featuring an exclusive interview and curated photoshoot with a unique and hand-selected male model.
HOW IS HE/HIM ZINE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER PUBLICATIONS?
He/Him Zine is unique in its focus on raw, unfiltered masculinity, celebrating diverse male identities from all walks of life. We spotlight individuality, body confidence, and the authentic experiences of men through self-taken photography and in-depth interviews.
WHAT TYPE OF MODELS DO WE FEATURE ?
We do not discriminate. We are proud to feature males of all ages (over 18), all races and ethnicities, from all over the world.
WHY HE/HIM ?
We celebrate masculinity, and proudly feature models who identify as male, a man, as masculine or who use He/Him pronouns.
HOW DO I TAKE PART ?
If your application is successful, you will be asked to complete a short online interview about yourself, your background, your body and fitness, any modelling experience etc. We will then work with you to arrange a self-taken photoshoot that you can do in the privacy of your own home. Your interview and photoshoot will then make an exclusive feature in the magazine.
DO YOU HELP WITH THE PHOTOSHOOT PROCESS?
Absolutely! Once selected, we guide you through the entire photoshoot process to ensure you feel confident and your images meet our professional standards. Our team provides detailed tips and support to help you create high-quality, exclusive content right from home.
CAN I SUBMIT ANY PHOTOS ?
No. We have strict rules on image submission, so that all our published content is of a high-standard. We work with models to ensure each photoshoot meets our standard. All He/Him Zine content remains exclusive to the magazine, and may not be posted anywhere else.
DO I HAVE TO SAY MY NAME?
No. As you will see, we only identify each model my his first, given or preferred name. We promote models on social media upon request .
DO WE PAY OUR MODELS ?
We are a not-for-profit enterprise with profits donated to men's health charities. Whilst we do not offer any payment to our featured models, we do offer exposure and extensive cross-promotion opportunities.
WHAT CHARITIES DO YOU SUPPORT ?
He/Him Magazine has selected 3 men's health charities to support equally; Movember Foundation, Australian Men's Shed Association, and Beyond Blue.
IS HE/HIM ZINE ONLY AVAILABLE ONLINE?
Currently, He/Him Zine is a digital publication, allowing us to reach a global audience while maintaining a sustainable and eco-friendly approach.
DO I NEED MODELLING EXPERIENCE?
No. We feature both professional male models, as well as amateur and aspiring men. All men are welcome to apply.
WHAT IF I’M SHY OR NEW TO MODELLING?
We welcome men of all confidence levels, whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out. He/Him Zine is all about empowering you to embrace your individuality, and we work closely with you to ensure you feel comfortable and celebrated.
WHAT IF I DON’T FEEL ‘MASCULINE’ ENOUGH TO APPLY?
Masculinity comes in many forms, and He/Him Zine celebrates all expressions of it. Whether you’re strong, soft, bold, or introspective, we want to share your story and aesthetic with the world.
DO I HAVE TO GO NUDE ?
Yes. All our models are confidant and comfortable modelling both in clothing and nude. Most of the images you take are fashion or fitness, however a small number you are required to model nude. Images containing nudity are strictly reserved for inside the magazine and never freely published online.
HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE?
The timeline can vary, but from application to publication, the process typically takes 4–6 weeks. We keep you informed every step of the way to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
DO I HAVE TO SIGN ANYTHING?
Yes. We have a standard model release form/contract that you can read here.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I’M FEATURED?
Once your feature is published, you’ll join an exclusive network of models celebrated and promoted by He/Him Zine.
CAN I APPLY TO BE FEATURED ?
Of course! All you need to do is submit an application, and you might be featured in a future issue of He/Him Zine.
